Team USA National Championship 2011 Results

Congratulations to Team USA teammates Lance Egan, Devin Olsen, and Norman Maktima for taking gold, silver, and bronze at the 2011 National Fly Fishing Championships!

Held May 19th – 22nd in the waters surrounding Cherokee, NC, the 2011 National Fly Fishing Championships drew 60 top-level competitors from all regions of the country.  Over the course of three days, an estimated 2,400 fish were caught and scored…testament to the boundless fishing opportunities in western North Carolina.

Anglers tested their skills on five unique venues:  Calderwood Reservoir,  the Lower Nantahala, the trophy waters of the Raven’s Fork, the Tuckaseegee River, and the Upper Nantahala.

In addition to their individual performances, all three medalists took home team medals as Teams USA 1, USA  2, and USA 3 took gold, silver, and bronze respectively.
