So how does the US Nationals work? Is it 5 man teams or do you compete as Individuals? If you qualify for but you team doesn't do they get to go to or do you cobble together a team with the qualifiers?

Normally they have 3 Team USA 's then the top five at each regional of the non Team USA members. Each regional competes as a team but you qualify for one of the 15 Team USA spots by your placing in the points accumulated during the regionals and Nationals. Sometimes they add a team of the youth or a national team from Canada, England, Ireland, etc.

Guys I cant tell you how pumped I am to help host this thing. We have been spending alot of time on the phone working on logistics and things have come together nicely. This event will be in Cherokee, NC and will include alot of the venues featured in the SE qual with a few additions.

Holiday INN in Cherokee has offered up some deep discounts ($50 weekday $60 weekend for competitors/judges) for the guys (this is half price). Cherokee Fisheries is buying the Simms Shirts and Hats with the NFFC logo on them for all competitors and judges, Cherokee transit is running shuttles (including airport shuttles), Rivers Edge Outfitters and the Motel is taking care of the space for captains meetings and conservations symposium, and a ton of other support has poured in. Im looking forward to what is going to be a great Nationals. And late May brings the best fishing in the mountains.

Many of the people that will ultimately be competing in this thing more than likely are on this board. Once regionals wrap up be looking for an email with logistics on lodging, venues, and prefishing water.

Great job Paul.

Hopefully a bunch of our guys will be there to fish it. If we aren't, then we'll be there to judge it.

Let's make this a Nationals to remember.
