We are set to embark on the quest for gold/silver this week. I will be offering daily (at minimum) updates, from the time we leave State College until the time we land, on the Youth Team FB page.

Not sure how reliable the organizers will be at posting results, but so far the website for the event is one of the best I have seen for a youth event. Once we are competing things will get hectic but I will post what I know as soon as I know it and can get WWW access. As usual--my info about results will be unofficial so keep that in mind.

Do not expect specifics about techniques or flies as many of the teams monitor our FB page. We will share that stuff post competition. There is a solid gameplan for practice and I am confident in the boys.

I know a few of your guys were putting in some time this past Friday, HEAT was a killer but they were at it for quite some time!

S Youth Fly Fishing Team At dinner (early! 6:06 PM) after another fine day of practice. Rivers are dropping and the muddy flows are clearing. Looks like the US youth have two in the top 6 and are currently in 3rd place, 1 place point out of 2nd. Go USA

This is just a brief update. After the first day of competition, Team USA 1 is solidly in third place, one point out of second. Czech Republic is leading the way with three individuals in the top 5 places. Team USA 1 has individuals, Stephen Salwocki and Noah Thompson, in 5th and 6th places respectively. Every angler on both teams scored fish in their sessions and not a single blank.
Full results can be seen on the website given above in Loren's post. Let's all pull for a good draw and beat assignment tomorrow and bump off the Czechs.

That is a nice start! I hope Loren and Kurt can keep the kids focused over there and keep fishing how they are now. I expect to see the B team make a move forward today.
