Has anyone seen a master roster for this year's CA Nationals?

If it is Canada, I have a copy of the master list. There are 60 competitiors (12 teams) in all, but sadly, I see that no American competitors will be attending this year.

The British Military has registered and confirmed their attendance. It should be a great experience and challenging competition (five loch-style sessions for rainbows, browns and tiger trout, with walleye being an elibible species for scoring on two of the lakes).

I have personally never fished for half of these species, so it should be very interesting...

I just got some initial (unconfirmed) results from the the event:

Team
Gold - Team Cormorants
Silver - Team Airflo
Bronze - Team British Military

Individual
Gold - Terence Courtorielle
Silver - Shane O'hara
Bronze - Todd Oishi

I'll be updating the leader board when the full final results flow in.  With the next event in September it looks like it's going to be a "Canadian summer" on the leader board :)

Congratulations to everyone that competed. Looking forward to some stories and pictures when you'll regain your breath.

I am curious, how did the walleye figure into the final points?  Was there a substantial amount of them caught?

Thanks Dejon and Mark! It was a tough competition, as the skill level was very high and the winds made your decision-making-process a critical factor for success during the loch-style sessions.

Chris, I only managed to catch tigers, browns and rainbows during my competition sessions (five loch-style sessions in total). I believe that there was only one Walleye caught during the entire competition, so they weren't really a factor...

I would also like to thank the Soldiers Palmers for their outstanding contributions to the auction/fundraiser for the youth, and for their willingness to help coach the youth as well as their fellow competitors. Everyone wanted to have an opportunity to share a session with one of them, but sadly I never had that pleasure myself. They are ALL top-notch ambassadors of our sport, and showed a lot of class and kindness during their time on and off the water...

I would like to echo Todd's comments with respect to the generosity of the Soldier Palmers both to the youth, and to their fellow competitors. Definitely a class act and superb fishermen. I was lucky enough to share a boat with Andrew Croucher during one sector and it was a education to say the least. It's rekindled my interest in stillwaters.

Congrats to all the medallists and competitors for making it a great event... now if we could have just done something about the weather :D

Guys,

I am sure that I speak for all the Soldier Palmer's, when i say this was probably one of the best trips we have ever made. Some of the fishing was truly outstanding  other lakes were very frustrating due really to the standard of boats and small drogues in pretty tough wind conditions. It was great to meet so many great anglers and we take our hats of to the cormorants you boys used every bit of information gained from each session and ran out very worthy champions.

I had the pleasure to fish with Terence on one of the sessions a great angler and ambassador of the sport a very worthy gold medallist and I look forward to locking horns again in the future.

It was also great to put faces to the names and meet Todd and Jeremiah.  It would be great to keep in touch with you all and share a few ideas.

The only down side was going back to work this morning after the 39 hrs it took me to get home.

Ronnie.

Ronnie,

I hope you weren't too hungover. I hear we missed a party at your place :D. We passed on the celebrations to try for some walleye Sunday morning--a couple on, but no joy. We probably should have stayed.

Araon,

We had a ball, the hangover was severe we had to be up 8am to drive to the airport.  I was up quite sharp and got some great photo's of the boys.  I hid Graham's medal and told him he had insisted that the lady that took us home should have it.   I gave it back to him 39hrs later in London he was re-leaved.

Did you go back to spear?

Hilarious.

No we didn't go back to Spear... that would have been too painful. We ended up going to the dam below Lake of the Prairies. Good water for Walleyes apparently, but the water was high and there were enough sunken fishing debris to make a bottom retrieve a guaranteed hang up. A jig style streamer would have been the ticket I think. The bait guys were getting the odd one, but even they said it was very slow. Our team mate Sunny fished there before the comp and absolutely slayed them--so it was either changed conditions or bad angling on my part (probably the latter).

Nice meeting you guys and I hope we'll see you again (on the water or in the pub).
