The North Carolina team will be hosting the 2012 Nationals in late June at the same venues as the adults this year. I have enjoyed my time thus far coaching the youth team and am looking forward to getting the chance to observe. There are a lot of new faces on the team and i feel the water down here will be great to showcase the up and coming talent.

To qualify for a youth nationals an angler >18 is required to attend a clinic. Clinics are held at multiple locations across the country. I will be hosting another clinic in April on the Nantahala for 2012. If you know any youth wanting to attend please encourage them to. I will be bringing in a crew of 5 top level coaches to ensure a high student to instructor ratio. It will be a 3 day weekend filled with instruction and technique practices during the day and tying at night. Lodging, food, and instructors are provided for clinic attendees.

Hello Paul my grandson mason is wanting to start into competitions and we were wondering how mason could get on a youth team. Does he have to finish really high at the clinic to get on a team?

Roland, to make team USA Youth he would have to attend a clinic, then place well at a nationals. But there are many many regional teams that im sure would let him train and fish with them. Where do you live? The eight logos above are all regional teams affiliated with the Trout Legend Co-Op. Either way we would be glad to have him at a TEAM USA YOUTH clinic.
