Marc and I have been chatting this morning and he has communicated the details and difficulties of staging this, their first competition.  It is my assessment that they have attempted to follow the spirit of TroutLegend's open registration process to the best of their abilities with a limited/exclusive venue and overwhelming interest.

Let's cut our newest team a little slack here and congratulate them on getting their first competition on the calendar!  I'm sure comp #2 will be even better.

Evidently there has been talk off of this board regarding the validity of this comp. This was an open registration competition that was posted based on the rules and regulations that were provided to me before and after submitting our application for the comp to be a sanctioned event. If you are upset about not getting in the competition then I'm sorry. I understand that Brigadoon is a high ticket item and getting the opportunity to fish trophy waters for such a great price makes the competition even more desirable. I'm sure if we were doing this competition at Cochran Shoals on the Chattahoochee we would not be catching the same slack (for lack of a better word).
If anyone has issues with me, Team Trout Slayer, or anyone on Team Trout Slayer then please contact me directly via PM and I will provide my email address and phone number so we can get things worked out. It is my goal as VP of Team Trout Slayer to represent this team in the best of my ability and to communicate with people the best I can so I am more than willing to discuss any and all issues or suggestions.
As a team, Team Trout Slayer has a goal of becoming the best thing to ever happen to fly fishing both in and out of the water. We are taking a professional approach to the competitive fly fishing world and want to do things in that manner. That doesn't mean we aren't a young team and in the learning process of how to do things but that we have high standards and goals for our team. One of the ways we decided to manage professionalism was to better our registration process by using email instead of a simple reply on a forum thread. This seems to have worked well for most people while for others they didn't like it. I haven't heard a complaint from anyone that registered in time though. For future reference we will not be doing tournaments this way but will be keeping our competitions private and only announcing the tournaments after TL board approval and by posting them here. We will also be posting an opening registration time and date.
There will always be someone who doesn't like the way something is done but we are all adults here. Let's try to communicate and treat each other as such.
I have been given suggestions and options for future competitions and will certainly take those into consideration. It isn't my or anyone on Team Trout Slayer's intention to upset anyone or to not include anyone in any event but as I'm sure you understand we have limitations for this location and event.

Thanks
Marc Thompson

Thank you Marc and Dejon for all the time you spent working on this.  This was a difficult venue for us to get. A lot of time and effort went into getting the approval from Brigadoon.

Thanks Again!
