TroutLegend Mini Comp June 5th (Sunday) near Arcade, NY. Fips-Mouche "choice", full catch & release.

Potential Details:
- Upper Cattaraugus Creek with alternate venues including Wiscoy and Clear Creek.
- 15cm fish minimum
- 20$ 50/50
- Lunch Included
- Anglers control 2 sessions/fish 2 sessions
- Session length approx 2hr
- If we do not meet a 10person minimum by May22nd event will be postponed.

"Fips-Mouche choice" = anglers who want to fish "non fips" standards may enter. They will have a chance to win the 50/50 and the event, BUT will not count for points toward the TroutLegend Leader Boards. This is still a full fly fishing event. This usually means anglers who are worried about dropping their indicators, split shot, and "tying off bend" can get a taste for a competitive fly fishing event while using their confidence methods.

Anglers who want to enter and fish without fips-mouche rules can win the 50/50, but will not gain points toward the leader board. Just a way to get more fly fisherman who are on the fence into the game and a chance to experience a competition.

Uh-oh, that's my home waters and only ten minutes away from my old homestead. I may have to come home and try that out. I love fishing the upper Catt in the fall when I'm up there deer hunting.

It's not as hard as it may seem. Especially if that lake you had mentioned earlier has 4 boats to rent? 8 anglers is the minimum for leader board eligible comp. Set a date, and if you don't get the 8 competitors by then you could always postpone it. Good way to ascertain interest in your region. All you'd need are 4 troughs, couple score sheets, pens, etc.

I'll look into the possibility of having something there. I need to get myself on it first....that and make friends with whoever is renting the boats.

You have a point.....wouldn't be too involved for a lake comp. Hmmm......(wheels turning....)
