We would like to welcome Allen Bole to team freestone.

Allen Bole became interested in competitive fly fishing when he went to a fly fishing expo and saw an advertisement for a regional competition. He entered that comp, had the time of his life, and the rest is history. Allen has been fly fishing since he was a boy, but didn’t start making it a full time hobby until 2007. Since then he has met a lot of interesting fly fishermen who have taught him many tricks of the trade. He ties his own flies, has become an avid reader and researcher of the sport, and has learned a tremendous amount about the world of competitive fly fishing in recent years. One of Allen's greatest transformations has been physical. He knew that his weight was a hindrance in competitions, and dedicated himself to losing an astounding 160lbs! Since losing the weight he has much more stamina and is able to finish competitions without physical complications. Allen has been married for 13 years to his wife, who enjoys accompanying him on fishing trips; and has two sons ages 8 and 4. When Allen is not fishing, he is coaching high school football.
