Well here we go the Quebec provincial fly fishing Championships will be held on 11-12 of September. The venue is in Mont-Tremblants, that is the same venue where the 2008 Canada Nationals where held. There will be two beats river and two beats Lake over two days, two man teams. Its small but it is FIPS-Mouche rules and very scenic place.

Great to hear that it has become an annual event! I only wish that I lived closer, as I had an absolute blast fishing the Diable River for browns and brook trout.

Do you know which lakes they have chosen for the competition?

Good news J. I think we should be able to field at least 1 or 2 TroutLegend Teams.

The lake part will be held at Club Baroux again, will know witch lakes they chooses, closer to the comp.

Don't know how big it will be but here is what i got last year.

Le Club des Moucheurs EnDiables will hold the first Quebec Flyfishing Championship at Mont Tremblant Quebec on September 12 and 13 2009. The two day event is sanctioned by Fly Fishing Canada and will follow FIPS Mouche rules, modified for the event. Modifications will be declared at the venues. The event is open to all fly fishers. Local fishing regulations are in effect, and a valid permit is required.

Competitors will fish three hour sessions on the riviere Diable on Saturday and on lac Renversi at the Pourvoirie Baroux on Sunday. There are no restrictions on practice on competition waters prior to the event

The cost per competitor is $70.00 for members and $100.00 for nonmembers.

All lake access fees, boats, drogues and thwart boards are included. Competitors may register as a two person team or as individuals. Individuals will be paired into teams by the organizers. Both team and individual medals will be awarded.
