Greetings competition nuts,

I'm slowly working on Issue #1 and #2 of the "TroutLegend, Competitive FlyFishing Journal" and seeking article submissions. This print magazine will be exclusively dedicated to competition fly fishing, techniques, news, and stories. Because this is a start-up and niche market I can't currently pay for submissions... hopefully one day soon.

Submissions should follow standard FlyFishing Magazine protocols for length, format, and photo format where possible.

Possible ideas for articles:
Recap of a Competition
Competition Fly Tutorials
Techniques: euro nymphing, czech, etc
Gear Reviews
Insights
Behind the scene stories
Updates from Overseas
Team Updates
Competitor Profiles
And whatever else you can think of...

So far we have a great submission from Chris Puchniak on the recent BC Loch Tourny and Tucker Horne on the Youth Nationals.

Next I'd like to explore some technique articles and fly tying articles.

Anyone game???

you will realize at some point, because you are an educated person, that the obvious route to immediate success, which will springboard your print magazine, is first developing the online version.

at some point, you won't be able to ignore it.

btw, the first issue is slated to release January 2012 and will include the full final leader boards from the 2010/2011 cycle w/ pics of the top rods, etc.

I think print media is great. My wife runs a real estate guide here in NC and real estate agents always tell her that print media is on its way out. The funny thing is that they all have ads in her magazine because it works. There is another reason print media is great is it gives you something to do while you are in the bathroom. If you will notice everyone has magazines in the bathroom. The last time I tried to take a laptop in the bathroom my wife accused me of looking at porn. I believe print media will never go away. Good luck with the magazine Dejon. I wish I could help out with some articles but my writing sucks.

Print media is great. The problem lies in the cost to print and ship it.
