Wisconsin Mini-Comp
« on: August 31, 2011, 12:35:47 PM »
Hey all.  I am looking into putting together a mini comp on in SW Wisconsin Spring Creek country (also know as the Coullees and Driftless Area) next spring.  Wondering how many would be interested.  All you midwesterners lurking and not Trout Legend members yet, please sign up and pm me or comment to the thread.  If there is enough interest, we may go to a full two day event with actual controllers.  The  event will take place sometime between March 1st and May 30th.  Please direct any questions my way.

Awesome news j. Let me know of any way I can help. I've got digital package on score sheets, excel scoring system, tips on making troughs and more.

Chris, we only have till the end of September for inland trout in WI, then it shuts down until March.  Let me know if you want to head out.  I'll be out in CO the 17th through the 25th.

I've been busier than I've ever been.  It's getting ridiculous.  Nick Naclerio is coming here for a week in October.  We'll be fishing North East Iowa if you're interested.

My company does a scheduled outage in the spring. Not sure what month yet, if it doesn't conflict with this mini, I would have some interest. Always wanted to fish Wisconsin. Definitely want to get up and fish some of you Northern guys events. Looking forward to seeing what Month you have planned.

Jason:

You made me thinking :). Maybe I could find some crazy guys here to come down with me. In addition, you know streams are my weaknesses, so maybe a lake or two would not hurt to have as a venue, but up to you. Please keep me posted.

Cheers,
Janos

I do have a lake that I could add as a venue, but it would change the whole dynamic.  I would likely have to do a separate day just for the lake.  I'm going to say at this point, no lake, unless I can get boats and motors for everyone.

I was thinking about bank/shore fishing on a lake/pond :). To organize a loch-style lake fishing that requires too much effort for a Mini-Comp would not be worth doing. Anyway, shore lake fishing was just a thought, it is totally up to you, if I can I will be there, fishing only on streams will not hold me back, and maybe bring some guys with me from Manitoba.

For sure timing of the tournament would be the key for me to be there, when we have still winter here, it is nice to go warmer places to fish :).

Cheers,
Janos

Current plans point to Fennimore as closest city to water, but that may change.

Jason,

I would be interested depending on the date.  Kevin Thomason would probably be interested too. Organize it and they will come.
