I really enjoy my Confluence, but sometimes find it a bit bulky... especially when I'm swimming a lot.

What I'm looking for is basically a harness with a ring for my net on back and a compartment up front about as big as a large fly box.

Anyone seen anything like this in their travels?

Rob, I might have to give one of those a try. I've fiddled with em' in the shop, but always thought the lack of a true shoulder harness, just the neck sling would get pretty uncomfortable after a day of athletic fishing.

Pat, that richardson of yours is pretty handy... and such a classic look.

I bet that fishpond is pretty comfortable. if its reasonably fastened to your torso i cant imagine the neck strain to be much of a worry. If they were uncomfortable nobody would have been buying them for the past 10+ years. Try one on and see what you think. nippers a box of flies and a few odds and ends is pretty light. and the little loop on the back would take a little pressure off the neck when the net is attached.

On a side note, recently tried out a WJ Creel pack and it's real close to being perfect, just a little quirky design, but has multiple ways to set it up.

Sorry...forgot the link to the Creel...again, it's so so close to being the one...I've just gotten spoiled with my Access pack having the fold down fly "bench" and the tippet system...actually talked quite a bit with Paul (WJ's Sales Manager) about the design... told him if they could incorporate a small fly bench, the TCS tippet thing, and a couple of their built-in zingers to the main strap across your chest, they'd have a sure winner in my opinion...he was very receptive to my suggestions and was going to pass them along to the design dept...thought that was pretty cool...don't think I would have gotten that much respect from some other companies...hope this all helps...
