Hook size & style?
« on: October 17, 2011, 03:11:56 PM »
Looking for a little market research feedback here.

What are your preferences, as far as quantity and importance, of certain hook styles and sizes?  Specifically geared toward comp style barbless hooks?

For instance, I would list mine as:

Nymph 10,14,18 (sub a nice Grub hook)
Jig 12, 16
Micro Nymph or Czech 20/22 (true size)
Streamer 1/2, 6, 8
Czech 10, 14, 18
Light-wire Dry 10, 14, 18

Thank you!

Assuming you're talking market research for new product development, in addition to your list, I'd be in the market for size 10 and 12 streamer style for stonefly nymphs, and something like a 2xl dry fly for stimulator types in sizes 10-18, as well as size 16 and 20 standard length light wire dries.

Personally I blaze through size 16 nymph hooks. I also agree with smaller streamer hooks.
