The measuring tapes were from myfish.com .  He should be able to hook you up.  The tubes are 30 inches long.  I think they are 6 inch.  The inside is painted black.

Here's a photo of the measuring troughs that we have used in the past:

Scotland's Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships:

Quebec's Canadian National Fly Fishing Championships:

The one in the last photo is quite inexpensive and fairly easy to construct, as they are made from plastic rain gutter components and an adhesive decal with the measurements.

Bourcq, the measuring tapes actually came someone on Team USA to help out with the 2007 SE Qualifier. These are hard to find since they are metric but a search on the web could probably turn some up. They have a sticky backing to attach.

I have seen several versions of measuring trays over the years. The best was in this years America Cup. They used a piece of 4" diameter Schedule 80 PVC and had the measurements laser etched inside. All of the edges were sanded and smoothed out. They were bomber and would last for years. We built ours in 07 out of 6" diameter Schedule 40 PVC (lighter gauge than 80). They are still around but becoming tattered. The 4" diameter is good for places where you won't find monster fish. The 6" is better when there are pigs about. However, a 6" diameter Schedule 80 would be very heavy. One thing I have thought about modifying is attaching a lanyard on the tray to keep from loosing them in high water.

That lanyard idea is a good one.

If it's big enough, you might actually use it as a shoulder strap to position/hold the tray against your lower chest while measuring.  Could mean more measuring while on the water versus having to find a place to sit the tray.

The least amount of clutter is usually best. I never use it for practise, but for past competitions I simply use a carabiner clip and attach it on the rearward side of my wading belt, so it is out of the way and easily accessed, but its location doesn't restrict my ability to crouch or crawl...

I like the Lanyard idea.  My judge in the se qual had to take an emergency bathroom break and didnt take his tray with him.  I felt something hit me in the leg and looked down and the tray had fallen in the water.   I chased it downstream.  I kept thinking the whole time what we would have done if we had lost it.  We were a few minutes in and no fish had been scored to even average.

Myfish isn't a place to get these at. Myfish is a website that records recreational fish catch data and a forum. The guy who owns it is a freind of Josh Stevens and Chris Lee. He had sent some money to help with the Se regional back in 07 so we stuck his stickers in the tubes for the comp. We just have left them there ever since.

Jay Buchner was who sent us the measureing tapes.

I think you can gte these tapes made at about any good sticker shop.

I did really like the trays at the Americas Cup. The laser etch thing was great,  and were bomb proof. Our judge carried his on his belt with a carabiner clipped to it.

Hey Mark,
Mike has been too busy trying to get recertified in his job.
He is a Firefighter and EMT at our airport. Aparently there has been a snafu in the great administration in our county.

I have not made these yet. Thats for reminding me. I will try to get to them
this weekend. Got the parts, just need the time.
