Sixth Sense lines
« on: November 21, 2011, 10:06:26 PM »
Anyone have the new Sixth Senth Airflo lines? The ones that have the orange marking system.

I am asking because I just replaced my lake lines with them and stringing them up I noticed a Chang in diameter... A rather significant change! It is only noticeable at the orange section. I have not castes it to know if it creates a hinge point but I could see it possibly doing so.

Going to call rejeff and ask. Most Matabele on the type 3 but also on the 5 and 7 to lesser degrees.

Hi Kalvin,

I have all the Sixth Senth lines and there great. Really smooth casting, the orange marking system is really good for the hang. Overall the best lake lines I've used.

I have the 5 and 7 with the integrated marker system.  No problems to date.

Can you gents tell me about how far from the tip the marker is?  I admit I have not kept up on the SS progression so I am interested in the marker and it's intended purpose.  Is it for the hang?  To denote the type?

Loren the markers are every 10 feet.  I think that the primary puropse is to let you (the angler) know how far you have to go before you are at the end of your fly line.  It works the same way as if you were to put your thread marker at 15, 12, or 10 feet from the end so you know you are getting close to the finish of your retrieve.

Are the markers different so you can gauge depth?

I have my own opinion on the marking system and think they suck... At least mine did! This was a year ago but contacted Rejeff sports and dicussed the diameter change where the marking system is. It is in 2 spots 10ish and 20ish feet. It was as if they added orange PVC to the already tapered line...

This led to several discussions and an entire exchange of all my lines... And Rejeff went back to EU Airflo and they pulled the marked system of lines....

Love Airflo lines have the whole set and MUCH prefer a backing knott or epoxy bump over 6feet of blaze orange 10 feet apart stripping through the water...
