Willy Tease?

I was looking at this 2011 new gear article on their page, even though not mentioned this looks like a magnetic confluence

I made a post about the confluence on their facebook page
hop over there and back me up
maybe if enough people agree we may see something like it in the future

Done.  I also linked back to this thread, so let's give them a more detailed idea of what we'd like to see if they come "clicking"...

Things I'd like to see:
1) Zero Water Absorbing Mesh material throughout
2) Less back storage space; just a "harness", waterproof license display, and net holding locale
3) 2 or 3 fold/stack type palate up front (if possible without bulk)
4) Magnetic seals for major openings
5) Integrated hook hone and ergonomic "Quick access" point&shoot enclosure

Removable back storage. I want it is practice for extras then but to be able to remove it would be great in competitions.

Really just making it waterproof would be a good step forward.  I just don't get it fishing is done in water and it seems like it has taken all these companies forever to realize waterproof is a must have feature.

Waterproof would be nice, but more importantly i think non-absorbent, extremely well ported material is the key.  The fact is, if you're fishing hard in competition you're probably going swimming!

I like the removable backpack idea. That would be perfect.

What if the back of the attachable harness was a PFD with place for a net
or the base of the pack was a pfd such as this one

Dejon,
My wife uses the WJ Access, and although I just got a confluence, I think that the Access has  more room in the front than it does.  It has no back, and if i remember right, it has a place for a net.  It has a larger flypatch too, just no zingers (which I think are kind of weak anyways and I will still use my simms).  If you want to see the inside of it and what it looks like with a few boxes in it I will post some pics of it opened up.

Cabelas has the new one in stock. Looks like the still didn't solve the net issue. I've just pulled the red rope through the top of the pack as was suggested from others. Anyone tried the C&F insert deal to replace the foam? Has anyone figured out what the two plastic sliders with holes are that are located on the front of the pack below the tippet dispensor is for?

Hey Jim, if you open up the largest compartment in the back there under the zipper is a little red loop. I don't know what it was intended for but I took my scissors and cut a hole for this to sit outside the pack. I put one end of my magnets on this and another to the hoop of my net.

Sorry, I'm not the best with describing things. But I could post pics if you'd like?

Zach,

I think the loop in the backpack is for attaching a hydration bladder.

Yup, i think you're right Adam.  I did the same thing: made small slit there and just pulled the loop through.  It's been solid as a rock and shows no signs of giving out after 2 years of use.

If Kalvin hasn't mentioned all ready he has a trick with grommets that further improves the Confluence... of which he will be installing for me this weekend, right good man?  ;)

I have received several questions about this...nothing really special, just using some tools from work I have modified where I put my net. With this...I never have to worry about it ripping out or coming undone. No one wants to lose a net but Critical for comp anglers!

Also another tip…get rid of those elastic cords that your net comes with and drill through the handle and replace with new cord, it WILL fail…Most likely at the worst opportune time. I had a previous post regarding this.

Simple eh?

Mine doesn't have those yellow loops.  I'd say it's for the magnets.

It does have the two magnetic pockets up front but the rest are zippered it looks like. Also after checking out the whole new series on the williamjoseph.net site they are putting the yellow loops on all of the tech packs whether they have magnets or not. I guess as another place to hang accessories. I'm also wondering about the new exodus and the other backpack model. It looks to me like the new confluence would dock into the either one of those larger backpack models though I'm not 100% on that making the new packs modular with each other which would be nice for longer trips having the option of pack choice.
