This goes out to many of the other "weathered road warriors" on the competition scene. 

Do you ever feel like you've "seen it all" before? 

If so, how do you combat this affliction to break through to new revelations? Or do you just feel it's a normal course of those who study something so closely for so long?  I see this in many of the other "top level" competitors who have been following the comp. scene and techniques for 5 or more years.

I know what you mean.  I have recently been fortunate enough to fish with and practice with some elite top level guys.  I expected some sort of voodoo or secret fly....not the case.  They fish stuff we know with bugs we know.  I learned that working water and staying mentally tough and making the right decision in comps is the key.

What keeps me going is this.....alot of the breakthroughs I have made in the last 3 or 4 years have been common practice on international squads for 8 or 10.  I am on a tireless quest for knowledge and know that if other teams are working as hard as we do to push forward there is no telling what is going on out there lol.  Feel free to divulge your top  secret voodoo tricks if you have them.
