I got an idea for a PA event but boats might be a problem.  3 lakes two chould be Loch Fishing one would be bank.  If I could figure out boats it would be easy since there is camping right near a couple of the lakes and they are mostly stocked with rainbows and browns.  I will be practicing on them myself some time this spring and summer.

I wouldnt mind doing one in the Southeast but Trout Lakes are few and far between.  Some of you SE qualifier guys should remember that over 60 hours of fishing Queens lake yielded no trout.  If monster bream or yellow perch counted Hanner would have been in the money.

I do know of some private places with big trout though.

Rob Kolanda and I are trying to get the website up.  ANYTIME and I mean ANYTIME that anybody wants to schedule a NALS event...just call me for an info helper packet(that is being put together as well)

In the first couple years, this series is meant to be cheap, scheduled over a weekend, a learning experience, low key!, and fun.  We will keep results on a database, but the main goal of these comps is not to award TEAMUSA qualifier points---nor does this Stillwater series intend to compete with TeamUSA qualifiers...it is just for fun and learning...maybe in a couple of years when the kinks get ironed out, it can become larger and more series  :)

which means...go ahead and put together a lake comp...with a minimum of 10 guys---shore or loch style and have some fun!

Bret and I are scheduling a NALS comp tentatively for late April on Magic reservoir --outside of Sun Valley...BIG rainbows!   right Bret?

Dejon,

you and I should maybe shoot for one of these for an event later this year.  It would be nice to get one going on the east coast but boats would be an issue.

Pete,

I really like the idea and it is a lot like what we are trying to do the the TL Coop.

Pete,

Are you guys keeping a notification list or something of that sort for anyone interested?  If so, add me to it.  I can shoot you my e-mail if you need it.  This sounds like a phenomenal idea!

Yeah, there's just no easy way around getting entry level 2man boats.  I was brainstorming some way of allowing one man pontoons, but you really need competitors right there controlling each other in the absence of a controller.

I think at a minimum we'll be able to hold a full lake competition every year up in Quebec!

Loren, does Skinny or any of the other fingers have boat rentals?

Not that I know of but I can probably scrounge up enough boats on Skinny.  The only issue with it is the wind..it is so long and narrow that safety becomes an issue.  15 mph out of the north or south is my limit--any more and she gets way too big. No bank fishing as a back-up.

There are some great lakes in PA--I think I really want to do this and I have a nice lake in mind.

Pete-let's talk!

I spoke to Josh Stephens about doing some lake mini comps around NC and he is all for it.  We are planning on fishing some lakes (cheoah  calderwood) around out neck of the woods.  I know us NC boys are all about it.  Keep us updated on anything we can do to help the process.
