Dont bust my balls on the gloves, that line burns like hell when you haul it. Ruined a good pair of simms gloves practicing that. Mel Krieger could cast the whole line.....

That's hilarious... and very cool. I would imagine practicing that really improves your casting with a rod too?

i loop it over my thumb and haul with my other hand. Im not sure if this is the "correct way". I heard Mel Krieger could hand cast an entire line. A few beers later and presto......60 foot hand cast. your loops form automatically since the line is looped over your thumb and no positive stop is needed. there is nothing too it.

Nice tight loops. Why in the world would you practice that cast?? I have to tell you I watched it a couple of times. I was cracking up, starting thinking - what would posses someone to try this, perfect it - then tape it.

Now you have me looking for an old line. I need to check this off my todo list..........

Well three things made me try this.....first because i enjoy casting and look up to mel krieger. I saw mel krieger do it and figured what the hell. 2nd becasue in the upcoming nanthala one fly you have to do a hand cast for part of the competition, and third because i thought it would be interesting to screw around with/i was bored.

I taped it becasue i told a buddy i fish with that i just casted 55-60 feet with my hands and he called bullshit. so i went outside, taped it, and sent it to him.

its kinda fun. dont hate lol.
