Anyone have good info on river fishing in Michigan? I will have a few days to kill out there in May. Looking at the Manistee or Ausable.

Looking for specific guide/lodging info and rec's

Gates Ausable Lodge is the only place you need to know for lodging...PM me if you would like any specifics as these two rivers are where I cut my teeth with the whippy stick

Im just going to be in Lansing area for a week visiting in-laws w the family...so I'm cutting out for a few days for some fishing and looking at the best opportunity.

Timing may be the issue - will be there the third week in April.

You will probably want to looking into the baldwin area (Pere Marquette River) or the Grayling area (Manistee and AuSable Rivers).

Gates lodge and Baldwin Bait and Tackle are the people to talk to.

May also want to talk to schmidt outfitters out of wellston. There will still be steelhead in the tribs in may. Should be fun!
