Sighter Swap
« on: December 24, 2009, 03:42:56 PM »
Since its clear we all like something differnt for our sighters and buying a bunch of mono to try out can be expensive why not do a sighter swap. I figure if we can get 10 guys signed up we can all swap sighters than we use. I think we should all use something differnt so we don't get doubles of anything and we should all use Alain's construction method to be fair. http://troutlegend.com/forum/fips-mouche-gear-talk/coiled-monofilament-sighter-construction/ We can make the deadline a month after we get 10 guys signed up. I will take the sighters and break them up and mail them out. Who ever signs up can PM me their address and I will PM mine to you. Hope we can get enough guys to do this.

I'll start:
1 Nick Naclerio (Sufix Seige Neon Tangerine)
2 Chris Michels (Amnesia Red) (Don't worry Chris I'll do yours)
3 Mark Hanes (Golden Stren)
4 Dejon Hamann (3 color variation)
5 Rich Strolis (red and yellow micro)
6 Josh Almond (surprise)
7 panhead (golden stren/modified)
8 Domenick Swentosky (backing)

Count me in.  I've been exclusively using Alain's but I'll chip in a 3 color variation ala Brett Bishops suggestions.

I'm in although undecided...I personally use hi vis gold but will check the local big box for something interesting.  I will then proceed wrapping it around something boiling it then freezing it then shipping it

Just a bump here to see if we can get ten. If not we can do it with seven or whatever we end up with.

Well, the only sighters I've used so far are straight mono, small vinyl sleeves, and the backing sighters that I made.  I see that you don't have ten yet.  Is this strictly a coiled sighter swap or can I get in with my chartreuse backing sighters?

Enjoy the day

That's a good reminder for sure Todd!  Most of the comp guys I know and converse with, especially on this forum, really try to stick to that rule.  Even when it's not much fun :)  However, I know a few of the guys in this swap are not currently or have plans in competing, so...

Mark and I chipped in for some spools of the "good" stuff.  Arrives tomorrow. Nice to see if it outperforms the competition.
