You know, Simms included a copy of this video with my repaired waders. I threw it in the garbage. I wish I hadn't.

Maybe it's because I'm closing in on 40. Maybe it's because I have more to lose then ever before, but I've been more and more conscious of the danger of drowning. My Uncle died on a rather regular outing in Alaska. He was a life time fisherman and bush Pilot. It happens. And it usually happens in places you think it shouldn't.

Thanks for the video, Todd. It's a must see...

The topic has always been interesting to me as an EMT/Firefighter. Another thing I'd recommend looking into for everybody is to try and find a swift water rescue class. I'm not sure if they are open to the public, but my fire department sends it's members to one a few times a year (we don't even have any water in our response area) and I hope to take it this year and apply what I've learned to the streams.
