I found this on another board and thought I'd share it here as well. This video clip shows some quality underwater footage of Atlantic salmon taking and refusing flies.

Unfortunately the fish are being handled poorly, but the video is quite interesting...

That's really cool! I just got my waterproof HD setup - thinking of trying something like that this Spring with Trout. Can anyone say "strike detection"?

Nice! Hey D, just so you know speaking of underwater HD stuff, I just got my new Pentax w90 today to replace my old optio's. It takes hd underwater video and photography, a great macro feature with 3 led lights for those small insects and a great 28mm lens. At 12.1 megapixels the pics are pretty good for a point and shoot. I will be playing around with this little guy a lot in the weeks to come, so far I am very impressed and I dont have to fret when I drop it as it's shockproof and cold proof as well. I will let you know how it works out.... And at $330, not to bad on the pocket

That's good to hear Rich. Despite the fact that I have 2 excellent "dry" Point&Shoots and a good Dslr I'm currently in the market for my first waterproof p&s - they're just too damn useful.

I noticed towards the end when he got the small salmon, as he was bringing it in, the fly was running up the line. Was this one of those "hookless" flies?
