I am going to hopefully get out with a couple friends this Sunday to see the changes in a local trout stream caused by the floods. I know Dejon is heading east… how ‘bout the rest of you?

I will probably be out every day at some point. Its nice to have places to go after trout that are less than a mile away.

I will be out this weekend catching the morning bite. Sun-up until noon. Hitting the local streams.

Hit the upper east branch in Margaretville yesterday with my 4 year old. He's a little trooper - made me SO proud. That's the same spot where I learned to dry flyfish almost 3 decades ago. We wet waded out in a torrential downpour and he did his best whipping around the little 7'6" Yellow Ugly STick fly rod I found for him at Dicks all the while yelling: "LOOK DAD I'M A REAL FLY FISHER GUY!!!!" I can't lie - it brought a tear to my eye. The next moment I look over and he is floating downstream on his back carefully gasping for air as he has his left hand grabbing for rocks and his right hand tightly gripping that fly rod in the air

I ran down, retrieved this little blue lipped, shaking, completely soaked child and stil couldn't get him to leave the stream, but only after bribe of treats. No trout though, so we made up for it with some nice largemouths on our family pond.
