Hi everyone,

After several browses over the topics from a distance over the past year and constant google searches regarding nymph fishing techniques, etc bringing me to the trout legend forum, I figured this was a sign to finally enroll myself for the forum here.

It's nice to see a fly angling forum focused on fly fishing without the excessive peanut gallery that tends to follow in close footsteps on most others.

Anywho.. My name is Andy Larkin, originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba but now currently reside in Victoria, BC.  I'm an absolute fly fishing and pattern junkie who is currently starting a 2-4 year program in Fisheries and Aquaculture sciences this fall in Nanaimo, British Columbia.  I am looking to begin fly fishing competitively, over the next year and hope I can share my experiences, techniques and information as well as take in everything this great site has to offer.

I really enjoy the technicalities behind the "european nymphing" and love spending time behind the vice pondering different ways of creating an aerodynamic yet fishy pattern as well as building leader systems capable of effectively dealing with the high waters and single-fly regulations we're faced with in British Columbia, but also do enjoy fishing the lakes as well as targeting pacific salmon, steelhead, searun cutthroat and less trouty fish.

Hey Andy.  Great to see another local BC'r on the site!  Welcome aboard.  Look forward to your contributions!  Hopefully we'll be having the occasional small comp in the BC area over the next few years where we can all learn and hone our skills.

I don't get over to the Island enough, but the Cow has always been a wonderful place in my heart.
