Hi, My name is Cody Burgdorff and I have loved Fly fishing since the age of six. I was first introduced to Competition fishing while watching the Nationals that were held in Boulder, Colorado. I remember watching Pete Erickson and saying I want that to be someday. My first real mentoring on Competition fishing came From Rob Kolanda who I worked with in our local fly shop. My first true competition was the USA Mens Nationals in State College in 2009 in which i placed 7th. From there I have competed in the Americas Cup and Most recently the 2011 Youth Nationals in which I placed 2nd. I love learning all I can about competition fishing and am always looking to improve my fishing. I look forward from learning about techniques and experiences from all of you. This site is just incredible and I hope to learn as much as i can from all of you.

I live in Boulder, Colorado. Im not sure as to whether I will be fishing in it or not but it looks to be a great venue with three river sessions and two lake session. It should be interesting, thats for sure.

Welcome to the site and to our addition Cody! I absolutely loved the time I spent fishing in your part of the world. How is the South Platte fishing these days?

Its about the only thing in our state as of right now thats low and clear. This means lots of people, but other then that the fishing is great if your up for the challenge. I spent a 3 days at deckers 2 weeks ago in preperation for the Youth Nationals as i figured if i could catch these well educated fish I would be okay fishing for any other trout. Fishing was good for the days I was there. Lots of big healthy rainbows and french nymphing to them is deadly!
