Hello everybody,
I've been lurking on this site for a while and I have to give it you: this is one of the best fly fishing sites there is (if not the best).
I am getting close to 50 years young and I've been fishing for the last 45 of them. I am not a "true blood" fly guy; started out with "rough fish" in eastern Europe, grew into fly fishing at about 14years of age. Did a bit of competition fishing (rough fish) with a second place my best. For some reason, I didn't really got into it. I mostly fish for pleasure and I am not against a fresh fish dinner (especially stockies). Wild fish go back to make more babies!!!
I favor bass and walleye fishing, but since last year, when we relocated to Reno, NV, I got back into FF, and I really,really start enjoying it.
I fly fished in Romania, NY,NJ,PA,MI and now NV. Plan on fishing a bit in CA later this year. Mostly nymphing, some wets and streamers. Drys are my weakness. I have no experience whatsoever in "still water" FF.
I am "sponging up" all the info I can get; I've spent a bunch of $$$ on books and tackle, but I still have questions.
I consider myself a good river fly fisherman, but maybe I am not !!
