It is a pleasure to join the board. I am an old guy (55) interested in learning about euro nymphing and other subjects and teaching my girlfriend's 13 year old son.
I hope to contribute with experiences of my own and become an active member.

The Farmington and Housatonic. Previously the WB of the Delaware but due to work not recently. Hope to make the trip more frequently this coming year. Looking forward to a lot more fishing in 2012.

WB is one of my all time favorites. Hope to get there a lot more in 2012 myself.

Hi Steve! I too am local to the Farmington (and less so, the Housy) and I am always looking to hook up with other local folks. My ability to get out regularly has been limited by the increase in my children's own hobbies, but with enough advanced notice, I can usually manage to break away for a couple of hours.

While I can't provide you with the level of expertise that many on this board can, I can share enough of what I have learned to get you started with both the short line Czech/Polish technique, and the long leader French/Spanish style of nymphing. Feel free to shoot me a PM sometime if you're thinking about a trip to the Farmington.

I thoroughly enjoy fishing with Pat (13 yr old). He doesn't say a lot but he enjoys the sport and always manages to catch a few fish. It is good to get him away from the TV and video games.

Steve there is a very tiny but pretty stream near Brookfield In New Milford. Probably twenty minutes from you on rt 202. Aspetuck R. I used to fish it all the time when I was young because it is so small and easy to wade and it has a nice wild n stocked population. If you join the Pratt Nature Center w a very small donation you can fish their land. Park at the church on 202. Your 13 y.o. can wooly booger his way down from the church. the Pratt Center is FF only / C n R. it is well worth the $25 donation. It is remote and beautiful and the trout are colorful. It is a perfect place for kids to learn.

thanks, Teddy, have fished it and enjoyed it. Will consider paying the $25 next spring. It sounds like a good idea.

todd, this board is fantastic. The best fishermen in the country willing to share, a great combination for a beginner.
