Yeah, a 28-30" inland stream brown on typical tackle & normal size flies is an ass-whooping in the making, Lol.  And might I add, an ass-whooping I wouldn't mind experiencing...

One of the funny things about that brown was how long it took me to get into the "netting game".  One thing I've learned about Mr. Hanes over the last year is he's an optimist.  And I love fishing with optimists, but they do have their downside.  I'd say on any average 10 hour fishing day he's calling out at least 3 or 4 "oh shit dejon, this is a dandy!"  And most certainly they are with a good mix of 17-21 inch fish coming to hand when he calls out.  But a lot of times they're also 13-16 inch just "average" fish and the fisherman in me gets upset with the photographers duties :)  However, NOW  I know the difference.  When Mark says: "oh shit dejon, this is a dandy" and there's a calm look on his face it's less then 21 inches.  When Mark says: "oh shit dejon, this is a dandy!" and he literally looks like he just soiled his waders it's probably over 24 inches :)

To keep things simple, we just yell "TUNA" whenever there's a serious fish on the end of the line.  Any misuse of the word tuna (such as calling it out with any fish less than 18") would result in continuous and unrelenting shaming for an extended period of time -- maybe years.

Any tackle, at anytime  it's a good time.  Course,  I have been told by some because I fish at night, those fish don't count, I wonder why?     ;D
