"Surf & Fly"

It's that time of year!  Big fish are close to shore.  From Steelhead in the Great Lakes to Sripers on the Atlantic Coast many anglers are spending time in the surf casting to big fish.

What kind of gear are you using?  Single Handers?  Spey Outfits?  Shooting Lines?

A really great rod for fishing the surf is the TFO TiCrX.  It's a cannon.  It'll punch a ton of line through the stiff breezes that are usually coming off the ocean.  The 8 through 12 weights are great for just about any salt water applications.  I have built up a few and the response has been very positive. 
Many guys can't get around the fact that they're imported but for those that can it's a great product at a great price.

Here's an oddball question that I can't exactly find the answer to.

Can you fish multiple flies in the surf?  Great Lakes?  Ocean?

There's obviously the 1 fly rule for "tributaries", but the surf is the lake.
