Indicator nymphing

I know this is something that most guys on here probably don't do. I do throw an thingamabobber from time to time, mainly went I can't get close enough to a run. You guys that do, do you (in general) use the same tungsten bead nymphs, or do you go to unweighted nymphs and split shot. I've read on another forum (from a guy that is very well versed in the Euro stuff) that the tungsten beads under an indy rig cause too much drag. He reccomends shot placed throughout the leader and unweighted flies. Just wanting some opinions.

Unweighted flies would probably give you a little more "natural" movement, but I use all my tungsten beaded flies with great success. I especially like a drop shot setup where you place the shot on the "point" and 2 small flies on droppers within a foot (about 3in tags).  The new thingamabobbers with the little jam post are a nice improvement - no more super rangled line all along your leader and much easier to move.

Thanks Dejon. I need to get some of those new thingamabobbers. I haven't bought any indicators in over a year and I'm down to my last two.
