Shout out to Paul Bourcq
« on: August 20, 2011, 11:42:10 AM »
I'd like to give some props to Paul. He held an advanced nymph fishing clinic that really helped me up my game. Even though I've competed with Paul on a couple of comps, he still was willing to shows his tactics when it comes to comp fishing. A lot of other fishing competitions (like bass tournaments), other competitors want to keep those secrets away from the other competitors. I think it shows the true character of Paul and the whole trout fishing comp scene where everyone is willing to share information to make everyone better. Thanks a lot Paul and to those that missed his class, you stood a lot to gain from his knowledge.

I think any competitor (or just a plain fisherman) owes it to themselves to take advantage of any other competitors or fishing teams that put on classes like that. You'd be suprised what you can learn regardless of your fishing level and experience.

I'm a trout bum. On a steelhead I'll ride. I'll catch them and release them alive.

I'll second that.  Paul is a great ambassador for the sport, as well as a great angler.  I have a lot of respect for him.

Paul may just get to shoot my new Sig 229 Elite, E2 with bridge rail and EoTech sight just because he's a great guy. Bourcq and I share a love of the handgun folks....

Thanks fellas.  I have a compulsive desire to learn and figure the best way to get is to give.

Baker-If you know what slicing the pie, bounding over travel, and "working in the box" is im sure we can get along.  And I know for a fact you learned it Ranger School.  In all seriousness Id love to shoot the 229.  Im in the process of building a Squad Designated Marksman AR right now.  Maybe we can trade some trigger time one day.

paul, held the SDM in the B CO, 3rd Ranger Battalion Arms Room just last month. Scope, Night sight, silencer and all. I'll send you a pic if you want just to see how they set it up. It is used mainly in overwatch as they assault objectives. They use lades to gain elevation on walls and over look the OBJ before hitting it taking out any key threats just before the assault. It's a mean killing machine...
