Here's a little pattern that seems to do the trick this time of year once the majority of the mayfly/caddis hatches come to a hault on one of my favorite flows here on Vancouver Island.

Hook: Hanak H300BL - Size 8-12
Bead: Black tungsten
Weight (Thorax only): .025 lead wire
Shellback/Wingcase: Mottled thinskin
Rib: 7x mono
Tail: Brown goose biots
Abdomen/Thorax: "Golden Stone" Antron Dubbing
Legs: Partridge

If you're out on Vancouver Island in spring or fall for a seminar and are looking to spend some time getting into some brown trout be sure to let me know.

That river is a phenomenal "learning" place for any nymph/dry fly angler.

sweet looking bug. I think I am going to spin some up and even in some smaller sizes to cover some of the smaller local goldens.

Here is another (dry) side profile to give a slight better view of the back. It's basically, one fold of thinskin for the first section, another fold with legs tied beneath/dubbed for the second (should go all the way to the bead); then the third section is simply just folded back and trimmed in a triangle/v shape.
