I know this dubbing was mentioned at least once in a couple other threads but i figured i'd start a new one just to really get across the point of how awesome this stuff is.  Just got 3 packs in the mail from Bob Marriot.  I got the pheasant tail, black, and dark hares ear colors.  So far ive mostly been using the black tying smaller black winter stonefly nymphs.  I can't believe how awesome it looks.  I love the idea of synthetics and i have an ice dub dispenser.  My probably with the ice dub is that the fibers are just too big alot of the time.  They are also sometimes a little over the top flashy.  The Az dubbing is really nice small fibers that just look amazing for a slightly more subtle flash.  Im sure it will work great in dubbing blends too.  Anyway if you havent tried this stuff out yet do yourself a favor and buy a pack in every color... you wont be disappointed.

I mix it with ice dub alot.  I also have a wapsi steelhead variety pack in crazy colors i use to jazz up my seal fur.

The AZ Synthetic Peacock has been out for quite a while, funny it's just starting to catch on after all these years.  I agree it's good stuff.  A guide friend of mine swears by it for his go-to nymph- nothing more than a BH on a 1xl nymph hook with a relatively sparse, tapered, loop-dubbed body in the regular peacock color, sizes #14-18.

John Rohmer, who originated AZ Peacock dub has a whole line of synthetics that I have been using for years and have incorporated into a wide variety of nymphs and streamers...His site is here:

I just finished putting up some searching (attractor) patterns on my site ,that I use, with some tweaks on Jeremy Davises' "Evil Weevil", a fish catching machine. Jeremy uses many of John Rohmers' dubbings in his dressings.

I am now going through this site to familiarize myself with the techniques and technology employed by the members here. A lot of good stuff!!!

I learned how to nymph fish from Chuck Fothergill and Georges Odier back in the early 70's on the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan Rivers in CO. Chuck and George are credited with the development of " high stick" nymphing...two great guys who have gone on to wet lines in places on a higher plane...
