Todd, do you tie your Czech nymphs with BH/lead and do you find they sink/track as well as the Polish?

My Czech Nymphs are all tied with tungsten beads and have lead under-bodies. I do vary the sink rates to match the depth and flow of water. They do track very well...

Great eye candy guys, some tiers with the sickness I see.  Very nice flies, I like the weaves.  I tend to agree with you Todd on the czech flies as better producers as I have found the same thing, even though my experiences are probably a bit more limited than yours.

Here's a photo of one of my Czech Nymph fly boxes, which I lost during a deep wading mishap in the Upper Poudre River at the 2007 NFFC...

Here's a picture of one that's been slaying for me this year on my home waters.

Thanks,
ya it is.   Doug Swisher sells them, they are called G-X wiggly's, and they come in a slew of colors.  Consider us all fortunate for his wild out of the box materials, the cats out of the bag now.  Alain, keep it under wraps as the Farmington Trout can't get enough of that fly.  (LOL).

That color combo is by far been the most productive, but I have also dabbled with some other funky setups with red, yellow and black wiggly's.  What they basically are is the rubber legs in his Gen-x dubbing.  Good stuff.  I tie the nymph standard czech style and just add a small waxed loop with a fair amount of these devils in there, spin her up, wrap it like a collar and pick out the legs till I get the desired effect.   They work too, they aren't just eye catchers..

Here's a non-grey-scale ;) shot of one of my Czech Nymphs that works extremely well in our Coastal rivers:

I'd love to show just how effective certain ones can be.  You have to sit-up and take notice of a pattern that raises so much contoversy that many competitors feel that they should be banned...

What did you use for the back of that nymph Todd?  It looks really sharp.  The hot spot butt shown on that nymph is a great addition to a lot of these flies.

I'm sold on those faceted beads.  I've had great success using them on my caddis larva.

This thread is a gold mine.

Few Questions- Todd- how many polish wovens do you have in that 1 picture? I'm guessing over 200, where did you find the time to bang out so many of them? Anyway, that was extremely impressive to me.

Rich- Your tying blog is really great. I hope you continue to produce more videos, and someday wish to fish with you up on the Farmington, I'll contact you through your website.
