Team Trout Slayer Spring Chattooga Mini

Tournament Date: Sunday May, 6th 2012

Location:
- Hwy 28 Bridge over the DH section of the Chattooga River near Clayton, GA 30525

Rules: FIPS-Mouche Rules will be followed

Time:
- Waiver signing/Drawing 7:00 am
- Beat drawing will start at 7:00 am. Registrant must be present at the drawing.
- Fishing will start at 8:15 am for the first session

Awards/Closing: 5:00-5:30

Layout:
- Open registration for 20 individual anglers, 10 beats. 1:30 beats with :30 in between.
- Fish/Judge/Fish. Lunch break from 12-1
- There will be NO pre-registration for anyone or any team. No exceptions.

Cost: $10 per angler

Purse: $100 first place, $50 second place

Registration: Registration date and time will be on a first come, first served basis. Registration for the comp opens March 12th 2012 at 8:00pm sharp. Registration can be made on Active.com

There is too much accusation of cheating the registration. This way there isn't any doubt that everyone, including the host team, has a fair chance to register for a comp.

If you create an account on active and log in at or before registration then your info will auto fill except for your credit card info and team affiliation...

I think there would be more accusation for cheating this way because you are the only ones who can see who signed up and when. On troutlegend everyone can see the time, and order you signed up.

I'm new to TL, and just registered for my first comp (through this website). I'm not familiar with the previous system, but I feel this sign up was fair. Everyone was privy to the info, so they can act accordingly. I'm excited about the event. Nice venue. See you all soon!

What about the "call in" and "text" and "this is ... on ...'s computer"?
I disagree and don't you think that if we are going through all the trouble of having people log in to the registration site, sign up for the event, and most of all pre-pay for the event that it would be pretty hard to cheat someone out of registration? When 20 people have signed up for the event the registration site will stop taking registrations. It isn't like we will take 30 pre-paid registrations and then choose who will enter.
I appreciate your opinion though. I'm sorry that this is irritating to you but Team Trout Slayer will ONLY use a third party registration site in until a better option becomes available. We believe in keeping registration fair and unbiased for everyone including our team members.

Those are valid points Marc. Good call, and RE: questioning TS for controlling who competes, look at the roster for the Dukes comp, DeadDrift (11) vs. TroutSlayer (7) competitors. With a mix of other teams. Now, I am new to this but I will say that TS wants to fish with/ against good anglers. This weekend at Hooch mini, my 1st beat judge (TS) was as enthusiastic as I was when I measured fish and applauded me. True sportsmanship. Keep it up TS!
