Heat Wave 2011
« on: July 22, 2011, 09:12:53 AM »
I know it is getting pretty hot here in the NE.  Anyone been out fishing for anything since the temps started hitting the high 90's?  I know I am thinking its time to give the trout a little break and hit a couple bass ponds myself.

We've been in the high 90's in Charlotte for some time now.  The high elevation streams are still safe, however, as are the tailwaters.

High 90's!?! It's been in the low 50's every morning for the past few days - according to the temperature readings at my house. They're forecasting temperatures in the upper 70's for the weekend and then back down to the upper60's for the rest of the week...

The streams and rivers are still running high and too cold for wet wading. We're starting to wonder if summer will ever make an appearance or if this is just the start of an early autumn...  :'(

sounds comfortable out there Todd!

I hope to get out on a local tailwater this weekend but I fear it will have guys from all over the place on it.

Todd, you want some heat? I'm willing to share, the highest recording on my thermometer is 119. That mixed with 60% humidity makes a less than ideal summer.

Gladly! I'd love some summer weather, as it's 3:00 pm right now and a cool 61 degrees. I'm still wearing pants and a polar fleece sweater - mainly to keep the mosquitoes at bay.

Should be a nice weekend for some small stream fishing...

Hope it cools down a bit for you guys!
